Read More - Arthur Returns to Mass Maritime On Tuesday, March 12th, Shea Concrete Products of Wilmington, MA rescued the Massachusetts Maritime softball team and installed a brand new set of precast concrete dugouts, two days before the Buccaneers’ Opening Day. The original, 25-year-old wooden dugouts were destroyed last November, during the nor’easter storm “Athena”. Two months later, Shea Concrete project manager and Mass Maritime alumnus, Arthur Bougoulas, began production on the project. Read More

On Monday, March 18th, Shea Concrete Products of Wilmington, MA delivered precast, Bolt Down Barriers to the Larz Anderson Memorial Bridge construction project at the JFK and Memorial Drive intersection in Cambridge, MA. This was the first time Shea Concrete Products delivered this new product line to a jobsite. Burns and the rest of Shea Concrete Products has a leg up on the precast concrete industry thanks to International Coding Technologies (ICT) and its QC tracking system. The system tracks QC using scanners and ICT’s “Cast-A-Code™” radio frequency identification tags (RFID). The Cast-A-Code™ RFID tags were first developed in 2006-07 and built to electronically store information while the tag is embedded in the object. It transfers data with the focus of automatically identifying and tracking the object. Unlike barcodes, these tags are ruggedized and designed to sustain heavy duty environments. Read More

First NPCA Master Precasters
Fourth-generation Precasters Earn Certification at the 2014 Precast Show in Houston
Eddie Lopez and AJ DiRocco of Shea Concrete Products were both named Master Precasters of the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) at the 2014 Precast Show. They are the first Shea employees to complete Precast University’s full curriculum of precast concrete, safety, technical, quality control, production, and leadership courses. Read More
